Manderson Man Sentenced for Larceny

U.S. Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a man charged with Larceny was sentenced on December 3, 2010, by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Frank Holy Rock, age 20, of Manderson, was sentenced to three months of imprisonment, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $100 to the Victim Assistance Fund and $4,264.66 to the victim.

Holy Rock was indicted for Larceny and Third Degree Burglary by a federal grand jury on June 15, 2010. Holy Rock broke into the Oglala Sioux Tribe (OST) Child Care Program through a bathroom window. While inside, he stole computer and electronic equipment belonging to the Child Care Program. The value of the items taken was greater than $1,000. Holy Rock pled guilty to Larceny on August 31, 2010.

This case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety. Assistant U.S. Attorney Carolyn G. Olson prosecuted the case.

Holy Rock was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
